Wolves seek a £63 million transfer war chest boost, as Manchester United and Liverpool pursue a Bundesliga wonderkid.

Even though the transfer window is over, the rumors are still going strong, so we’re back with our collection of the most audacious and significant new Premier League transfer rumors.

Let’s start with a report from Caught Offside, which claims that Borussia Dortmund’s newest wonderkid, 20-year-old English winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, has Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United “in the transfer race.” Fortunately, there is a good probability that all three teams will be able to acquire him.

According to reports, Dortmund would be “forced” to sell the young player in order to make ends meet if they were to miss out on the Champions League (they are now in the bottom half of the standings following a turbulent season). The Premier League heavyweights might not have any bidding battles all to themselves, though, since it appears that Bayern Munich is also “interested.”

The 3AM Verdict: Because Bynoe-Gittens has been receiving great reviews in Germany, rumors that he would return to England will likely surface frequently, as they always do with Fikayo Tomori. The notion that a British person could occasionally be content living elsewhere seems to be difficult for our media to accept.

However, Bynoe-Gittens would be among Dortmund’s best assets to put up for auction, and the notion that they would have a fire sale if they are unable to save their season is certainly correct enough.
According to a Spanish report that Sport Witness has picked up, Bynoe-Gittens is not the only winger owned by a German team that Manchester United wants. According to them, Bryan Zaragoza of Bayern Munich, who is now on loan at Osasuna, has been linked to the Red Devils.

Zaragoza would prefer a permanent move to Bayern, and it appears the 23-year-old may be positioned to contribute to Ruben Amorim’s “major rebuild,” a process that could take a while. The two clubs’ cooperative connection following their acquisitions of Nouassir Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt may make things easier.

The 3AM Verdict: Zaragoza has only scored one goal since leaving Granada, thus neither his transfer to Bayern nor his loan with Osasuna have truly worked out yet. Though he doesn’t seem like a clear fit for Amorim’s system, he does have potential, and we’re not sure how much weight we’ll give this one.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be our final stop. We’ll also follow up on a story from The Daily Telegraph that explains the conditions under which star striker Matheus Cunha may depart the Molineux even though he signed a brand-new deal a few days ago.

The Brazilian’s new contract appears to have a £62.5 million minimum fee release clause, which isn’t all that much more than the kinds of amounts that clubs were reportedly thinking about spending on him during the January transfer window. Arsenal and Aston Villa are rumored to have the striker on their shortlists, so that will be of interest to them. However, the article states that, despite several rumors to the contrary, there were ultimately “no enquiries” regarding a trade.

The 3AM Verdict: Given all the rumors that he is leaving, we’re wondering if his representatives weren’t using every tactic in the book to negotiate better terms on that deal, but if Cunha keeps up his current career trajectory, someone will eventually spend that kind of money on him. One wonders if Wolves have set that a little too low. The fact that he signed it and won’t be leaving for at least a few more months is crucial for Wolves.
