Former adult film actress Emily Willis who has been left permanently disabled following a cardiac arrest once briefly dated another porn star who is now in prison for human trafficking.
Before becoming a porn actor, Willis met Andre Garcia, a recruiter and performer for the now-infamous GirlsDoPorn website, after meeting on Tinder, and Garcia persuaded her to enter the profession.
Garcia, 44, was sentenced to 20 years in jail and 10 years of supervised release in June 2021 for his involvement in a human trafficking enterprise that pushed young women into filming pornographic recordings under false pretenses.
According to reports, Willis described how she became engaged in adult videos, stating that she met someone on Tinder who introduced her to the site.
“I met someone on Tinder and we started dating,” Willis told Captain Jack in an earlier interview. “He had a website called GirlsDoPorn and asked if I wanted to do a porno with him. I was so star struck that I said, ‘Yeah, whatever, let’s do it!’ I was initially uneasy with it, but I eventually fell in love with it. After my first two scenes with them, I realized I had to do more. This must be in my life.
The Tinder match she was referring to was eventually identified as Garcia. However, in an interview with XBIZ, Willis admitted that she was aware she had been mislead but opted to continue working in the profession.
“I knew from the start that I was being lied to about the scenes,” Willis told XBIZ via text message. “Whatever they tried to say was a lie. It was fairly clear, to be honest. It didn’t matter to me; I wanted to perform porn regardless, and since my first two scenes with GDP, I’ve had no contact with Andre or any of the guys.”
Willis explained her relationship with Garcia, saying, “I only dated Dre for about a month when he asked me to shoot for them.”
According to court records, Garcia conspired with Michael James Pratt and Matthew Isaac Wolfe from 2013 to 2019 to falsely recruit and pressure women into filming sexual footage. The victims were duped, coerced, and forced into participating, assuming the tape would be kept private.
However, the films were secretly put online, resulting in millions of dollars for the website’s proprietors. According to the Department of Justice, some women were physically harmed, while others were threatened with legal action or trapped without flights home if they tried to leave.
According to the Department of Justice study, film shoots in hotel rooms or other short-term rentals often lasted several hours, rather than the 30 minutes Garcia had promised.
Exits were obstructed by camera and recording equipment, and if the victims changed their minds about participating in the video, Garcia and his co-conspirators threatened to sue them, cancel their flights home, or post the previously filmed footage online, “which, unbeknownst to the victims, was going to happen anyway,” according to the DOJ.
According to the FBI, Garcia stated as part of a plea deal in December 2020 that he worked as a “recruiter and adult film performer for GirlsDoPorn and GirlsDoToys adult websites” between 2013 and 2019.
During his sentence hearing, Garcia apologized, calling the pornography industry a “evil business,” but scores of victims submitted heartbreaking impact statements recounting the pain they experienced.
Garcia’s supervisor, Pratt, made his first appearance in federal court in March 2024 after being extradited from Spain.
In October 2019, Pratt was charged in the Southern District of California with sex trafficking crimes in connection with a plot to deceive and compel young women into appearing in pornographic recordings. Pratt was an international fugitive for more than three years before being caught in Spain in December 2022. Earlier in 2022, he was named to the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted.
Willis, 26, was admitted to Summit Malibu, a private treatment facility, on January 27, 2024, to receive treatment for ketamine addiction. She then had an anoxic brain injury as a result of her medical emergency and is now paralyzed, however her family’s attorney confirms she is making some progress in her recovery.
Willis has been transported from a care facility to her mother’s house in Utah, where she is still receiving treatment and assistance. Her family has now filed a lawsuit against the rehab center, claiming carelessness and mistreatment that caused irreparable brain damage and left her in a vegetative state.
Willis, born Litzy Lara Banuelos in Argentina on December 29, 1998, gained to prominence in the pornographic industry, receiving honors such as Penthouse Pet of the Year Runner-Up (2020) and Playboy All Star of the Month (2021).
Although she was once romantically linked to Garcia, her current dating situation is unknown due to her critical medical condition.
