Scott Parker has no regrets regarding Burnley’s transfer deadline day business, although acknowledging that some transactions did not go through.
On the final day of the January transfer window, the Clarets signed Marcus Edwards from Sporting and Jaydon Banel from Ajax.
In contrast, John Egan left Parker’s team for Hull City after only four months.
Burnley attempted to add a number nine to their attacking line, but no deal was reached.
Parker gave his opinion on Burnley’s deadline day business, saying: “Like I’ve stated before, we were searching for items that we thought could help us. At the same time, we were not going to make rash or dumb decisions that made no sense at all.
“We were in a market where there was a desire to do new things, but the things that didn’t work out for us didn’t feel right for us at the time and certainly didn’t feel like they would help us.
“We didn’t want to add things to the squad that weren’t necessary, so we brought in the guys we did.

Burnley made five additions last month, including Oliver Sonne, Jonjo Shelvey, and Ashley Barnes.
Hjalmar Ekdal, Hannes Delcroix, Han-Noah Massengo, Andreas Hountondji, and Jay Rodriguez have all moved on.
