Millwall boss Alex Neil shares what he really thinks about Leeds United ahead of FA Cup clash
Daniel Farke’s team will try to continue their remarkable winning streak when Leeds United hosts Millwall in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.
To locate Leeds United’s most recent loss, you must go all the way back to November. The Whites’ unbeaten streak now stands at 14 games in all competitions after their 2-0 victory over Coventry City in the middle of the week.
However, Leeds’ six consecutive clean sheet records are arguably the most outstanding. Leeds has shown resilience at the back despite Illan Meslier’s recent criticism, as Meslier made some significant saves against Coventry.
At the end of December, Millwall hired Alex Neil. In eight games thus far, he has a solid record of four victories, two draws, and two losses; most recently, he defeated London rivals QPR 2-1 at home.
Millwall defeated Dagenham & Redbridge 3-0 and Leeds United defeated Harrogate Town 1-0 in the January FA Cup third round.
Alex Neil full of praise for ‘talented’ Leeds United squad
In his assessment of Leeds United ahead of the weekend, Neil has not held back in acknowledging that the Whites, under Daniel Farke, are currently a very formidable team.
“You have to give Leeds the respect they deserve,” Neil told Southwark News. They won 7-0 just now.I am aware that we have already defeated Leeds this season, but there is no denying their brilliance.
“There is a reason they are at the top of the league. We’re going to have a difficult game. It doesn’t help that a number of our guys are cup-tied.
“I think Leeds away is probably the one venue right now across the league that is arguably the toughest. But these types of games in the past Millwall have done particularly well in, so it’ll be an interesting match.”

Leeds United vs Millwall H2H
Leeds has taken 41 of a possible 48 points at Elland Road this season, giving them nine more home points than any other Championship team. With 16 points out of a possible 42, Millwall is now ranked 11th in the away form table.
However, as Neil points out, in November, Millwall defeated Leeds United 1-0 in The Den. Leeds had won the three previous games, but the Lions had won four and drawn one of their previous ten encounters.
Millwall is maintaining its Championship competitiveness under Neil. However, on Saturday, both teams are likely to make significant changes, thus it might be a close game that any club could win or lose.
