‘One of the best I’ve seen…’ BBC pundit wowed by Celticy star who ‘frightens me’ after win v Dundee.

The team had another fantastic evening at Celtic Park. Celtic scored six goals against Dundee on Wednesday night, one week before the Bayern Munich fixture, moving them 13 points clear at the top of the table. Normally, in these types of matchups, you want to keep things as simple as possible, and the champs did exactly that when Arne Engels opened the scoring after 18 minutes. It came from the penalty spot when VAR overturned the on-field call, followed by Adam Idah’s second goal, Daizen Maeda’s two fantastic strikes, and Nicolas Kuhn’s long-range strike off the bench. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening for Brendan Rodgers’ team, but it left one man watching from the commentary box at Celtic Park amazed.

Lee Miller explains what ‘frightens’ him about Daizen Maeda after Celtic thrash Dundee

Jota played his first game for Celtic since returning to the club last month, and he was dancing about the pitch, generating fantastic football and hooking up brilliantly with Maeda. The Portuguese great delivered a fantastic cross to the far post for Maeda’s first goal, but his second pleased Lee Miller the most, he told BBC Radio Scotland. The veteran striker said that it ‘frightens me’ that the Japan star ‘never seems tired’, and that his second goal against Dundee was ‘one of the best goals I have seen’. after he chipped the opposition goalkeeper from just outside of the penalty area after a brilliant through ball from Engels.

“The thing that frightens me, he, [Daizen Maeda], never looks tired,” according to Miller. “He is every defender’s nightmare. I do not know where he gets his energy. “That goal he scored tonight, [his second, a chip over Trevor Carson], was one of the best I’ve seen. The finish is top-notch. I felt awful for Trevor Carson tonight; the endings were top-notch. “They were amazing.”

There has been a lot of conversation about Kuhn this season and his progress, but the player on the other side has also taken his game to new heights. Those two will compete fiercely for Celtic’s Player of the Year award, as you would expect. Maeda’s output has increased, and when combined with his work pace, he has become impossible to stop.
