With three consecutive Premier League victories, David Moyes has been able to calm things down on Merseyside in recent weeks.
With Carlos Alcaraz being Everton’s only acquisition, the Toffees didn’t do much business throughout the window.
Even though they are currently enjoying a very strong run of play, Saturday’s matchup with Bournemouth might be a pleasant diversion from Premier League action.
It will be fascinating to see if the 61-year-old wants to make some big changes given the numerous injury problems besetting the Everton team.
Asmir Begovic impresses in Everton training
Everton has suffered a number of severe injuries, including Orel Mangala, who will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee ligament problem.
Moyes may find it challenging to dismantle a winning team, but he is well aware that Everton’s seasonlong objective is to stay in the Premier League.
Asmir Begovic posted a video of his performance in goal during this week’s training at Finch Farm, suggesting that one player has truly impressed.
His coaches and teammates’ vocal appreciation was evident as several players failed to defeat the Bosnian.
Despite not playing a single minute of football this season, the 37-year-old is nonetheless keeping up his skills in the backfield.
Begovic has back the appointment of Moyes and will now be hoping his efforts in training have done enough to catch the manager’s eye.
Jordan Pickford looks unbeatable in Everton’s goal
Everton’s defensive record has been really impressive, even if they are positioned toward the bottom of the standings.
England’s top player has been at the center of that, with even Michael Owen complimenting Jordan Pickford’s performances this year.
Naturally, it is hard to think Moyes would bench Pickford over the weekend.
However, a hit to Pickford would truly inspire anxiety of relegation, especially with players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mangala sidelined by injury.
The Friedkins’ primary goal this season is to stay in the Premier League, however a cup run would be fantastic.
