Wrexham fans all pen heartfelt messages after transfer confirmed, it’s clear who is next.
Wrexham had a very quiet conclusion to the January transfer season, although one transaction was completed on deadline day.
After a delayed start, the Red Dragons completed the most of their transfers in the days leading up to the window closing.
After an unsuccessful move for Michael Smith, Wrexham focused on other center-forward prospects.
Jay Rodriguez came from Burnley, and the Welsh club broke their transfer record by signing in-form League One star Sam Smith from Reading.
Wrexham strengthened their front line by bringing in Ryan Longman to compete at right-wing-back, which has already proven effective.
Several departures from the Racecourse Ground occurred during the winter window, including one reported on Monday evening.
Wrexham agreed to let Anthony Forde go by mutual consent after he battled for playing time and was not enrolled in their 22-man League One squad in early 2024/25.
Next Wrexham star to go is already evident.
Forde was a valuable member of the club, but as Wrexham’s success grows, more difficult decisions will be required.
The 31-year-old is the latest in a long line of former prominent players who have left the club after falling out of favour.
And, while other departures will have to wait until the conclusion of the season, it seems evident that Will Boyle will be the next to go.
Boyle has made few appearances in 2024/25 and is currently regarded as the sixth-best centre-back option.
