Former Reading FC player makes transfer deadline day switch back to League One
Tom McIntyre, a former Reading FC player and academy product, returned to League One a year after departing Reading.
McIntyre, an Academy graduate, moved to Portsmouth last January for a meager £50,000, although he has since left on loan to join Charlton.
Despite Pompey’s promotion to the Championship, McIntyre was sent off on his first game for the team and later sustained an injury that ended his season.
He has played in ten Championship games for Portsmouth, who are fighting for relegation, this season, but his poor play has cost him a berth in the starting lineup.
For the remainder of the season, he will now play for Charlton Athletic in League One.
With the same number of points as Reading, Nathan Jones’ team is currently in seventh place, ahead only by goal differential.
