Chelsea appear to be the most active Premier League side in the final hours of the January transfer window.

Several players who have not received enough minutes under Enzo Maresca may now get a chance to showcase their abilities for the remainder of the season.

Carney Chukwuemeka will join Borussia Dortmund for the remainder of the season, while Ben Chilwell will return to Crystal Palace for more playing time.

Somto Boniface will leave Chelsea for Ipswich Town.

It appears that more than just first-team players are expected to leave today, with the Chelsea academy also serving as a hotspot for potential.

Somto Boniface, an 18-year-old, will be on the move this season after being named to the Under 21s team.

The Evening Standard reports that Ipswich Town has agreed to sign the left-back on a permanent basis.

If all goes well with Boniface’s physical today, the transfer will conclude his nine-year stay with the club.

Despite just appearing once for the Under 21s this season, Boniface has clearly made an impact during his time at the academy.

Josh Acheampong is among the players who have been impressed. The new first-team player has already lauded him on Boniface’s Instagram.

A few months ago, there was much speculation that Acheampong might leave Stamford Bridge this month after being locked out.

However, the teenager has committed his career to the club for years to come, and he has been rewarded with Premier League starts in recent weeks.
