Exclusive: Portsmouth star Will Norris undergoing Wycombe medical as deal agreed.
According to Football Insider, Portsmouth goalkeeper Will Norris is getting a medical at Wycombe Wanderers on Monday (3 February) in preparation for a last-minute switch.
The 31-year-old is completing a permanent move to Adams Park ahead of the transfer deadline of 11 p.m.
Norris began the 2024-25 season as Portsmouth’s goalkeeper, but was replaced by Austrian Nicolas Schmidt.
The Watford-born player joined Pompey in 2023 and played every league minute when the team was promoted to the Championship last season.
However, Norris has only made nine appearances for the south coast club this season, surrendering 20 goals and maintaining just two clean sheets.
He is no longer in the matchday squad for John Mousinho’s side and has been permitted to go for promotion-chasing Wycombe.
Norris is close to making a permanent transfer to Wycombe.
Norris has made 83 games in division One, including more than half when Pompey won the division in 2023-24.
Wycombe’s current first-choice shot-stopper is Argentine Franco Ravizzoli, who replaced Nathan Bishop earlier this season.
The Chairboys now rank second in League One, while Portsmouth are 20th in the Championship.
Last week (January 29), Football Insider reported that Wycombe had rejected Luton’s latest proposal for top scorer Richard Kone, valued up to £6 million, as they try to maintain their promotion campaign.
