Deadline day ‘talks’ held as stumbling block for Nottingham Forest transfer set out
Emmanuel Dennis, an attacker, reportedly discussed securing a transfer from Nottingham Forest on the day of the
transfer deadline.
The 27-year-old is expected to leave the City Ground before the window closes at 11 p.m. this evening because he is
no longer in favour there. For the first half of the season, he was not included in the Reds’ 25-man Premier League
roster, and he hasn’t played for the team since May 2023.
Dennis has reportedly spoken with both French team Toulouse and previous team Watford, according to the BBC.
Werder Bremen, a German team, has also reportedly expressed interest in signing him, while Sheffield Wednesday
has also been connected lately.
According to reports, the Nigerian is eager to find a new home before the deadline. But according to reports, money
might prove to be a barrier because he will need to make a “compromise” given his £60,000 weekly salary.
In the summer of 2022, Dennis reportedly paid £20 million to leave the Hornets for Forest. He has scored two goals
in his 25 Garibaldi appearances.
He last appeared for the Reds on the penultimate day of the 2022–2023 season, coming off the bench against Crystal
Palace. He was on loan at Vicarage Road and Basaksehir in Turkey during the previous season.
On the day of the deadline, Forest had already approved one exit. James Ward-Prowse, a midfielder, is back with his
parents.
Another departure appears to be close, with Lewis O’Brien closing on a move to Swansea City. According to our
colleagues at WalesOnline, the 26-year-old is on his way to complete a medical.
