Big-spending Birmingham City show interest in Sheffield United forward ahead of transfer deadline

Big-spenders in League One Kurtis Havenhand, a teenage forward for Sheffield United, has drawn interest from Birmingham City ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline. If a deal can be reached before 11 p.m., the striker, who signed his first professional contract with United in the summer, might continue his career in the Midlands.

Prior to missing the entire previous season due to an ACL injury, the forward led the under-18 team in scoring and signed a loan deal with Sheffield FC in December of last year. Despite being demoted to League One, Birmingham spent almost £25 million in the summer, including spending between £12 and £15 million on Jay Stansfield. They are aiming to finalize a deal before the 11 p.m. deadline.

With Kieffer Moore, Tyrese Campbell, and Rhian Brewster ahead of Havenhand and others in the hierarchy, United added Tom Cannon during this transfer window to strengthen their own forward options. Jevan Beattie, the son of former United striker Craig, has also made an impression since joining the Blades from Motherwell, and Ryan One has also advanced from the youth teams to the main squad.
