Sheffield Wednesday snap up exciting attacker in latest transfer swoop

The 21-year-old’s arrival, on loan from Toulouse, has been confirmed. The Star said yesterday that Wednesday was

eager to try to finalise a deal for him.

“The Owls have acquired Ibrahim Cissoko from Toulouse, a French Ligue 1 team,” the club said in a statement. The

dynamic wide player will spend the rest of the season on loan at Wednesday. Cissoko uses explosive pace down both

flanks and is mostly a left winger, though he can also play on the right.

Before moving to France and Toulouse in the summer of 2023, the Dutch Under-21 international began his career in

Holland with VVV Venlo, later playing for Vitesse Arnhem and NEC Nijmegen. After a year, Cissoko relocated to

England to play for Plymouth on loan at Home Park for the season. This month, Toulouse used its recall clause, and

the 21-year-old is still playing at Hillsborough.

The timing of his announcement, which came before the match against Luton Town, raises the possibility that the

deal was completed too late for him to play against the Hatters.
