Police investigating report of serious sexual assault in Leeds city centre

An early-morning report of a violent sexual assault in Leeds city centre is being looked into by police.
At 3:07 a.m. on Sunday, police were contacted regarding a woman who had been assaulted near the River Aire.
This morning, there was a police cordon behind the Brasserie Blanc restaurant on Sovereign Street, but it has already been removed.
“Police were called to a report of a serious sexual assault that had occurred on the river bank near Brasserie Blanc in Leeds at 3.07am,” a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson stated.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
“Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact police, quoting log number 262 of December 15.”
