On This Day: Watford legends unveil Hornets themed subway

This day in February 2022 marked the formal unveiling of a brand-new Watford FC painting in the town center subway beneath Exchange Road.

The artwork commemorates the borough’s centenary and the club’s “100 Years at the Vic” milestone. It was made by MurWalls as part of a £55,000 project.

A visual monument to the Hornets’ past, which includes icons like Cliff Holton, Luther Blissett, Tommy Mooney, and Troy Deeney, is now visible to fans traveling to Vicarage Road.
