Drivers who have flouted rules at Greater Manchester junction told ‘fine in post’

Police in Salford have issued a warning to drivers who have broken the rules of the road. According to Greater Manchester Police, police have been monitoring Adelphi Street at the junction with Chapel Street.

Multiple motorists have been disobeying a road sign. The sign instructs traffic to stay to the left of the island in the center of Adelphi Street.
However, numerous drivers have been driving to the right of the island in order to get around stalled traffic. GMP claims that in certain situations, cars are driven into oncoming traffic.
Police are now cracking down on the problem, and individuals caught are being written to by GMP. The police department published three photographs of automobiles driving on the wrong side of the sign.

In one photograph, a Skoda Citigo is on the wrong side of the road, while two automobiles approach it. In both of the other photographs, a van is on the wrong side of the road.

A spokesperson for GMP Traffic stated on X today (January 31): “We have recently been monitoring Adelphi Street in Salford.” “We have been enforcing cars that ignore a mandatory arrow instructing them to keep left.”Driving against the flow of traffic, and in some situations, directly into oncoming traffic. Letters are fine in the post.”
