The Etton Football Club has been using this more frequently in recent transfer windows. The club unexpectedly expanded their roster today with a loan signing that nobody, not even the transfer “in-the-knows” (ITKs) or club insiders, anticipated.
Carlos Alcaraz, an Argentine midfielder, has joined the team on loan from Flamengo in Brazil, with the option to make the move permanent. The 24-year-old has played for Southampton in the past and spent the previous season on loan at Juventus in Italy before rejoining Flamengo in Brazil.
The transfer was confirmed by the Brazilian club’s Twitter account, along with the stipulation that the loan would become permanent if the player fulfilled specific performance requirements, which are currently unknown.
The Toffees will soon have Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner back after losing Orel Mangala for the rest of the season due to a knee injury last week. Alcaraz, who plays attacking midfield, should help score goals because the Argentine is much more composed and creative with the ball than current player Abdoulaye Doucoure, whose attacking output has drastically decreased this season.
