‘No chance’ – Shea Charles responds to Sheffield United question after finalising Sheffield Wednesday stay

Shea Charles, a Sheffield Wednesday loanee, claims that he has “no chance” of wearing Sheffield United colours this

season.
Over the past few weeks, the 21-year-old has experienced a bit of a rollercoaster. His loan at Wednesday was

terminated, he was linked to their fierce rivals, among other clubs, and finally, he ended up staying at S6. He

acknowledges that he was relieved when everything was resolved in time for him to play in the victory over Queens

Park Rangers.

Prior to Luton Town’s arrival, he informed the media, “It’s been a little bit chaotic.” “Obviously, the 15th was the

deadline for my recall, and that’s when I was recalled. I was thrilled and delighted that everything was resolved

because it was extremely last minute and I had no idea what I was doing for the seven days.

“I came here for a season-long loan, that was the plan, and I didn’t really want to cut it short because it’s a great

group of lads and a good coaching staff, and everyone’ around the club is really pushing for something. I’m excited to

finish the season here.

“I like to think I had a positive impact since I was quite adamant about staying here, and Southampton and my agent

were aware of that. It’s strange; any interest is welcome, but my main goal has always been to remain here.

So he never imagined that he would be wearing different colours when he played in the Steel City derby in March?

He smiled and answered, “No chance.” Additionally, it seems that the Saints are pleased with the way things have

turned out.

“They’ve seen that I’ve progressed well this season, and now they’re more than happy to see me finish the season

here,” he said in response to questions about his prolonged stay at Hillsborough. It benefits both sides, in my

opinion.

They are glad I’m staying at Wednesday because it’s a large club with a good coaching staff, a decent team, and guys

like Nate (Chalobah) and Barry Bannan to learn from.

When Luton visits town on Saturday afternoon, Charles is anticipated to start in the middle of the Owls’ midfield

once more. With Wednesday just a hair’s breadth from the playoffs, he will be hoping that his best S6 moments are

still to come.
