Everton given the green light by Premier League club to sign ‘important’ striker instead of Evan Ferguson

David Moyes would believe that in order to boost his numbers up front, he just needs another face to enter Finch Farm.

Everyone can see the problems at Everton, as the team is concerned about Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hamstring injury from the weekend.

Despite the fact that the striker has not yet received an official update, it is clear that Moyes will only have Beto to choose from this weekend.

With Everton eager to capture Rangers’ Hamza Igamane, the Toffees have more options to consider.

But now there’s another striker available who might give Everton more Premier League experience.

Nottingham Forest will approve Taiwo Awoniyi move to Everton

Before Monday’s deadline, it has been rumored that Everton is interested in Taiwo Awoniyi, a striker for Nottingham Forest.

With time running out, Kevin Thelwell will be considering a number of possibilities, including the Nigerian.

The Daily Mail claims that although Forest looks for another striker of their own, they would be willing to sell Awoniyi before the deadline.

West Ham is rumored to be interested in the 27-year-old, much like they are this month.

However, after Chris Wood’s outstanding play made him Forest’s second choice, the striker might be eager to make a move before the deadline.

The Athletic claim Nuno Espirito Santo still views Awoniyi as an ‘important’ player, but his game time has suffered this season.

With Moyes pushing for Everton to sign a forward, the Friedkins need to get hurry before the window shuts.

Awoniyi could be an Evan Ferguson alternative

Everton has expressed interest in signing Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, but there are many other teams vying for the Ireland international’s services. Awoniyi may have fewer suitors than the 20-year-old, as Ferguson presents a genuine prospect for the future of any team that signs him, but he could provide a club like Everton with some experience to add depth to their squad. The 27-year-old striker has, however, also had his share of injury problems, which could worry the Toffees.
