Blackburn Rovers have agreed to sign forward Augustus Kargbo from Serie B club Cesena.
According to Africa Foot, the Sierra Leone international arrived in England many hours ago to finalise his transfer to Ewood Park.
John Eustace has expressed a strong desire to add a number nine to the squad before the February 3 deadline.
Rovers were reportedly interested in signing Brandon Thomas-Asante from Coventry City, Patrick Bamford from Leeds United, and Jed Wallace from West Brom.
Making that position a priority to address in the summer window, it looks Rovers have found their man, with the expectation that Kargbo can hit the ground running and offer enough ammunition at the top end of the pitch to help Blackburn make the play-offs.Making that position a priority to address in the transfer window, it now appears Rovers have got their man, with the hope Kargbo can hit the ground running and provide enough ammunition at the top end of the pitch to help Blackburn squeak into the play-offs.
Blackburn Rovers agree a deal for Augustus Kargbo
Earlier this week, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Augustus Kargbo was getting closer to joining Blackburn Rovers, but Il Resto del Carlino reported Cesena were asking a cost of €1.2 million, putting pressure on the Lancashire club to boost their first offer.
According to Africa Foot, an agreement in principle has been struck between the two teams for a move.
According to the source, Blackburn has been finalising the terms with the attacker and intends to offer him a deal until 2029, although the player’s representative would prefer it to last until 2027 or 2028 at the latest.

Blackburn Rovers strengthen key area
According to Africa Foot, Blackburn has made significant improvements in a vital part of the pitch, allowing them to remain at the top of the standings.
Recruiting a foreign player who has never played in English is a risk, but Kargbo has played a crucial role for his team in Italy, helping Cesena advance to the second tier with 10 goals in 33 appearances.
The 25-year-old has three goals and two assists in 18 appearances in Serie B, demonstrating his ability to consistently score.
If Kargbo can carry that form into the Championship, Blackburn will have a forward who can intimidate the rest of their play-off-chasing opponents.
