B B C Sports: £40m Leicester City target has just rejected Chelsea as fresh development emerges.
Mathys Tel, a Leicester City target, has snubbed Chelsea.
Prior to the January transfer window, Leicester were connected with Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel.
While an initial loan was proposed, the Bundesliga heavyweights were then prepared to approve a permanent deal, causing several larger teams to raise their eyebrows.
According to BILD, as related by writer Simon Phillips, Tel doesn’t want to transfer to Stamford Bridge because the competition for slots is too intense. Enzo Maresca boasts an abundance of riches in attack.
Tel’s motivation for leaving Bayern is to play more consistently, since he has only featured in 253 Bundesliga minutes this season, and he would like to join another team.
Leicester greatly misses Abdul Fatawu.
Leicester may be an excellent destination for Tel, but only because he would be assured a weekly game. Aside from that, the Foxes are not an appealing prospect, and they cannot afford the Frenchman.
Van Nistelrooy is looking for a replacement winger due to Adbul Fatawu’s injury, which will prevent him from playing for the rest of 2024/25.
The Dutchman never got to witness the Ghanaian in action since he ruptured his ACL before arriving, but Leicester has missed his straight running and opportunity creation.
According to LCFC Data, Fatawu has completed the most successful take-ons of any Leicester player this season despite his long-term setback in November.
It simply emphasizes how much we need to recruit another winger this month.
