Wolves have until the end of the transfer window to sign players

to let some individuals head out the exit door ahead of the deadline on Monday 3rd February.

Vitor Pereira was chosen as their manager earlier this winter. He was picked as their replacement for Gary O’Neil and initially made a positive start to life in England.

Results have started to drop though after a tough run of fixtures and they have slipped into the bottom three. They lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal last time out.

As per V+ TVI Portugal, Wolves are interested in Besiktas playmaker Rafa Silva. His contract in Istanbul expires in the summer of 2027 and he is valued at £10million on Transfermarkt.

Rafa, 31, has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season so far and has chipped in with 10 goals, five of which have come in the Super Lig. His current club have recently appointed former Manchester United striker and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær as their new boss.

The ex-Portugal international could be seen by Wolves as someone to boost their ranks. He was on the books at Benfica from 2016 to 2024 and was a hit during his days there, firing 94 goals in 326 matches altogether.

What now for Wolves?

Wolves return to the action this weekend at home to Aston Villa. They will be looking to return to winning ways against their rivals.

The Midlands outfit are currently inside the drop zone with Southampton and Ipswich Town. They are a point from safety behind Leicester City after the Foxes won 2-1 away at Tottenham Hotspur in their last game in a shock result.

Pereira has recently said: “I have my personality and we have our methodology. When a team doesn’t get the results, it is normal that the confidence goes down and the most important is that we have an idea of our game or our play.

“I like to see my teams playing in a way that we are building. We’ve started to build this way to play and we give them confidence. This is the only way that I know. Bring confidence again, connect them and give tactical directions. This is how we work in this moment.”

In terms of transfers, he said: “We are working in the market like the other teams. I’m trying to understand what my players can give to me for the way or play that I that I want to see. It means this is a time to look for targets, but I can only speak about my players – I cannot speak about players in the other teams.

“Our squad is a short squad, but I prefer to have a short squad, because I like to see the players from the Academy. I have started and we are looking for talents – I like to work with talents, with the young players, but the club knows that we need one or two in other positions and that it’s important to bring someone in. But I’m happy with my team.”
