West Brom player facing uncertain Baggies future ahead of transfer deadline

According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the midfielder’s parent club Sassuolo are considering recalling him from his season-long loan before the February 3 deadline.

The Serbian has made 21 league appearances for Albion since coming in the summer, although only nine of those have come as a starter.

Racic only made one appearance in Tony Mowbray’s first three games as manager, coming off the bench during last weekend’s 5-1 victory against Portsmouth.

Sassuolo is reportedly thinking of bringing Racic from West Brom back to the Portuguese team Famalicão.

The 26-year-old made 33 league appearances while on loan with the Primeira Liga team during the 2019–20 season.

He may be recalled and leased back out somewhere else as a result of his lack of recent playing time with Albion, according to reports.

However, since the market is scheduled to close on Monday in England and much of Europe, no decision has been made over whether he will be recalled this month.

Although he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a consistent starter for West Brom this season, Racic has nevertheless been a valuable member of the Midlands squad.

With 21 appearances in the Championship, the midfielder has two assists, and the team hopes to place in the top six this year.
