Southampton player tempted to ‘relaunch’ himself away from Saints—negotiations needed
Kamaldeen Sulemana of Southampton is viewed by RC Lens as a fantastic winter market potential.

Southampton has had a difficult Premier League season since they acquired him from Stade Rennais in February 2023. They are 11 points behind Leicester City, who are in 17th place, and at the bottom of the standings.
Before Monday’s deadline, the 22-year-old would welcome a return to France, namely to Lens, in order to “relaunch” himself, according to the story. The Saints are willing to let him go during this time frame.
This would give Lens the confidence to “jump at the opportunity” and sign the attacker. Because of the disparities between the two clubs, the operation is challenging to execute.
The Ligue 1 team reportedly wants to sign Sulemana on a paid loan with a buyout option. That was rejected by Ivan Jurić’s team, who sought €8–9 million plus a large portion on a future sale.
Sulemana is ‘open to the idea’ of playing at Lens and there could be developments if one of the clubs were to change their stance.
