Reading FC boss on 'frustrating' stoppage-time Burton defeat...

Reading lost 3-2 against Burton Albion on Tuesday night, leaving manager Noel Hunt angry at the referees and his

team’s performance.

The visitors pulled even with two goals in quick succession after trailing by two at halftime, one of which was offside.

But relegation-threatened Burton won for the third time in a row thanks to a low cross on the counter in stoppage time.

Regarding the outcome, Hunt stated: “It is annoying. We hold the line well and must rely on these officials to

perform their duties correctly since it is hurting us. The man is two yards offside for the second goal. A free out is

then awarded after a goalie went over himself and misjudged the jump, while a stonewall penalty with Harvey on the

wrong side of the defender is not awarded.

“The way we played tonight, I thought we were far better than what Burton were. We dominated the game, created

chances and to go two down was tough- from our mistake and the official’s mistake. To get it back, the fight,

determination and grit the boys showed- the discipline in the structure and how we played in moving the ball was a

lot more like us.

“They believed they could go and win it, but I’m yelling at them to control the game and slow it down because

sometimes you have to realise what you have and take it. We wanted to play, but we have to learn to follow the plan

and realise that we can’t. If we want to win, we’ll do the same things with three or four minutes remaining as we did

with the two in the second half. Tonight, that lack of focus has cost us.”

“They believed that by kicking rapidly when we were spread, they had somewhat let themselves down. We were

attempting to earn the right for the entire game, and we achieved the proper balance, so it was better than last

Saturday.

“The initial ten minutes of the game, the final five minutes of the half, the first ten minutes of the second half, and
