Shrewsbury manager Gareth Ainsworth was cautiously optimistic about the health of defender Morgan Feeney, who was stretchered off during Town’s defeat at Stockport.
The 25-year-old fell down in the penalty area shortly after the hour mark in Salop’s 1-0 loss at Edgeley Park.
Following a collision, the Salop player was down in the box for more than ten minutes with a potential neck injury.
He was stretchered from the field of play following a fast response from the medical crews of Town and Stockport.
“I believe the early signals are favorable, but I don’t want to bring bad news, but as far as I can tell, he appeared to be conscious.
“He was moving his hands and feet, so I’m hoping this is just a precaution.” This is one of those things that overshadows everything else. Our thoughts and prayers are with Morgs, and we hope he fully recovers.”
