FC Twente targeting £1.75m permanent deal for Celtic outcast.
FC Twente plans to convert their loan deal for Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke into a permanent £1.75 million contract this week.
The 24-year-old centre-back was loaned out to the Eredivisie at the start of the season and quickly established himself in the Twente Enschede squad after initially fighting for playing time.
He’s become a crucial player for the Dutch side, and Twente sports director Arnold Bruggink is apparently planning to visit the Scottish champions this week to attempt to finalize the transfer.
Lagerbielke, who cost Celtic £4 million when he signed in 2023, has made an immediate impact at Twente and has already earned an international call-up for Sweden.
He scored his first goal for the club last week in a 3-2 Europa League win against Malmo, and Twente wants to keep the goalkeeper.
