Newcastle United’s £63 million transfer cost for Alexander Isak in 2022 proved to be a steal, as the Swedish player is currently regarded as one of the greatest in the Premier League.

Isak’s worth has nearly quadrupled over the last two and a half years, with Newcastle wanting £150 million for him, despite interest from Arsenal. Even if a club made a £150 million bid, Newcastle would likely reject it.

Newcastle United are looking for a new striker to compete with Isak, as Calum Wilson’s contract expires this year.

Newcastle’s current transfer strategy focuses on developing young players, and the club appears to be interested in Sociedad’s top player.

Icelandic striker Orri Oskarsson has sparked interest after performing in Spain this season.

The 20-year-old joined Real Sociedad from Copenhagen in a £17 million deal last summer and has already scored 10 goals in all competitions in his first season.

The Daily Mail named Oskarsson one of the top Scandinavian wonderkids, and Newcastle was touted as a potential destination for the young forward, alongside Arsenal and Manchester City.

Newcastle might emulate their success in getting Isak to Tyneside after his outstanding term in Sociedad by pursuing a transfer for Oskarsson.
