3 Celtic fans busted in flare incident at PPL Park (With Video)
CHESTER: According to authorities, three ardent Celtic FC supporters allegedly lit flares in the center of a crowded PPL Park on Wednesday night, putting others nearby in risk as flames shot into the air. In the closing minutes of the game, flames from the flares were visible rising from the center of the crowd. Major Joseph Bail of Chester Police remarked, “These guys chose to come down here and be idiots.” “It was a combination of brown bottle courage and childish behavior.” According to authorities, the three were part of a party of Celtic supporters who took a bus from New York to Chester Stadium for the match against the Philadelphia Union.
They lit bigger railroad-style flares while seated in the center of the stadium, according to Bail. According to Bail, “one child had a burn on his arm, and the other had a burn on the back of his shirt.” “Fortunately, nobody else was burned.” Due to his excellent cooperation, one of the hooligans was let go. A non-traffic summons will be mailed to the unidentified man. Kevin John Diamond, 33, of Queens, and James Andrew Shields, 29, of the Bronx, were charged with criminal offenses of recklessly endangering others and repeated disorderly behavior. Magisterial District Judge Robert Blythe arrested Shields and Diamond and set bail at 10% of $50,000. On Thursday afternoon, the two were awaiting their transfer to the Delaware County prison. Two further individuals were apprehended for ticket scalping outside the stadium. The tickets were seized and they were warned.
