Two casualties rushed to Edinburgh hospital after crash on city bypass.
The Scottish Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a special operations team to the area before transporting two patients to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Two persons were transported to the hospital following a crash on the A720 Edinburgh bypass in the early hours. Police, medics, and firefighters were dispatched to the westbound carriageway at Straiton soon before 5 a.m. after reports of a collision. The Scottish Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a special operations team to the location before two patients were blue-lighted to the A short video posted on social media at the time shows a Scottish Fire and Rescue appliance travelling in the midst of two lanes of traffic before arriving on the scene.
The route was momentarily closed and reopened an hour later. At the moment, Traffic Scotland posted on X: “NEW 04:59 A720 – Straiton.” The road is closed westbound owing to a traffic collision. A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman stated, “We received a call today at 0429 hours to attend a road traffic collision on the A720. We sent two ambulances and a special operations team to the location. “We transported two patients to the New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
