Stoke City has made a bid for Bristol City’s Mark Sykes, as reported by Anthony Joseph on X.
Stoke City are interested in bringing the versatile Republic of Ireland international to the Bet365 Stadium this winter. SCFC has until the conclusion of the January transfer window to attempt and sign their man.

Sykes, 27, will be out of contract with Bristol City at the end of the season. He is set to become a free agent in late June, unless he signs an extension with Ashton Gate in the meantime.
According to journalist Joseph’s report on X, the Potters have expressed interest in his services. It remains to be seen whether his parent club will accept it at this time.
Stoke City recently drew 0-0 at home against Oxford United in the Championship.
Stoke City bid for Bristol City’s Mark Sykes
Bristol City must act quickly to avoid losing Sykes for nothing.
They signed the Belfast native in 2022, and he has since become an important contributor.
He can play midfield, wing, or full-back, making him a valuable asset.
Sykes has made 99 appearances in all competitions for the Robins, scoring 11 goals.
After signing Bristol City, he stated on their website, “I’m delighted, I came over last week and met with the manager, everything was positive.” I’ve always wanted to play in the Championship, and the manager was honest with me – he said he’d give me a chance here at the club, so hopefully things continue to go well.
“It’s unbelievable here, to be honest; I’ve only been to two clubs, so I don’t have much experience on training grounds, but what I’ve seen here is unbelievable.” It’s first-rate; no problems.”
Sykes began his career with Glenavon in the NIFL Premiership before heading to England as a youngster to join Oxford United.
Before joining Bristol City, he played 135 appearances for the U’s and scored 11 goals.
