‘Specifically’ Celtic have ‘great interest’ in signing – Director unsure of player’s stay, €2.7m needed
Tammer Bany of Randers FC is a target for Celtic in the winter transfer window. At least that’s what the Telegraph is saying, and they claim that Brendan Rodgers’ team is one of numerous clubs involved. The attacker joined the Danish team from Boldklubben af 1893 in February 2024, and in his first 24 games, he has two goals and six assists. Bany would have attracted “great interest” from Celtic and a number of other clubs due to his performances and reputation. The 21-year-old’s bids from Swiss team FC Lausanne-Sport and Royale Union Saint-Gilloise were both turned down at the beginning of this month. The Belgian club reportedly made an offer of 10 million kroner, or €1.35 million.
Randers is now being surrounded by a number of clubs, “specifically” Celtic and Nantes. Apart from OH Leuven, Bany is also being pursued by Egypt’s Al Ahli and Rakow Częstochowa. Several of these clubs have contacted his agent, according to Tipsbladet. Although they haven’t named the Scottish champs, they have probably approached the attacker.
The player has not yet received any offers from Randers, and Søren Pedersen, their sporting director, has not yet put an end to his departure. “When we start again, Rasmus [Bertelsen, manager] will also have him available,” he stated. I wouldn’t say I’m positive he’ll be here when the window closes, but the goal is for him to stay. “But obviously he’s one of those who’s had a lot of activity around and there are still clubs who are interested.” Randers sold Mads Enggård and Filip Bundgaard for 20 million kroner [€2.7 million] apiece, and according to the report, they want a fee in this area to sell Bany.
