Sunderland transfer agreed as “right opportunity” presents itself for club

NAZARIY RUSYN has completed a season-long loan move from Sunderland to Croatian side Hajduk Split.

The Ukrainian forward will spend the rest of the season away from Wearside, and Hajduk Split has agreed to a clause that allows them to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

Rusyn signed for Sunderland in September 2023, but he has yet to establish himself as a regular first-team member.
He has made 32 senior appearances for the club, although this season he has been on the outside looking in under Regis Le Bris.
Sunderland sporting director Kristjaan Speakman stated, “We wanted to find the right opportunity in this window for Nazariy to play more minutes, and Hajduk represents a fantastic opportunity for him.”

“The combination of playing style and a club competing for a league title provides the perfect foundation for him at this moment in time and we wish him well for the remainder of the season.”
