Report: Juventus lower their asking price for Manchester City target.
Manchester City’s pursuit of Andrea Cambiaso has apparently been boosted after Juventus agreed to drop their asking price. The 24-year-old has been a vital player for Thiago Motta this season, but his performances have suffered since his return from an ankle injury. Nonetheless, Pep Guardiola and his team are confident in the full-back’s abilities and will continue to pursue his signing. The Cityzens just offloaded long-time stalwart Kyle Walker, therefore Cambiaso was seen as the ideal replacement, particularly given his versatility, which allows him to play on either wing.
However, while the Premier League powers are eager to splash the cash, Juventus has been holding out for exorbitant numbers in the area of 80 million euros. Nevertheless, the Bianconceri directors have taken a more liberal position. According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via JuventusNews24), the Serie A giants have reduced their asking price. Man City are set to make a bid of between 60 and 65 million euros, which could be enough to break the Old Lady’s reluctance.
Juventus may use this sum to fund transfer operations or balance the books, as the club’s finances are not stable. However, Cambiaso’s departure would leave a significant gap in Thiago Motta’s squad. The Bianconeri have signed Alberto Costa to bolster their full-back department, especially with Danilo set to depart. However, his arrival may not be sufficient.
