Police have explained why a major police presence was seen on Penistone Road, Sheffield, this week.
Several police vans, including a police dog van, and perhaps half a dozen police cars were seen on Penistone Road and Vere Road in Hillsborough, with videos of officers being shared on social media.
Following the incident on Tuesday, January 21, officers have explained why they were there.
South Yorkshire Police sent a statement to The Star on an arrest attempt on Penistone Road North in Sheffield, on behalf of Derbyshire Police.During a man’s arrest, a 67-year-old male was detained for impeding a police officer, while a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency service worker.
“The 67-year-old man has been released on police bail and the 30 year-old woman received a police caution.”
