Paik, Iwata, Willumsson: Birmingham City injury latest before Huddersfield clash

The most recent injury updates for Birmingham City as they get ready for a crucial League One matchup against Huddersfield Town

When Birmingham City travels to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday, Chris Davies will be hoping to have one of his midfield maestros return.

At John Smith’s Stadium, League One leaders Blues play fourth-place Huddersfield in an attempt to increase their
winning streak to 16 games. The Blues kept their five-point lead in the race for automatic promotion on Thursday by
avoiding a loss to Wrexham.
Huddersfield weren’t able to close the gap on Saturday when they lost 1-0 to Bolton Wanderers. Bolton ended
Huddersfield’s 16-game unbeaten run in League One since their defeat to Blues at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park
on October 1.
Blues welcomed back winger Keshi Anderson at Wrexham on Thursday and he is pushing to start against
Huddersfield, but several key players could miss the clash. Tomoki Iwata and Paik Seung-ho have missed Blues’ last
three matches through injury and Willum Willumsson has been struggling with a problem too.

Tomoki Iwata

Injury: Unspecified

Iwata was confined to Blues’ treatment room last week and is a major doubt for Huddersfield. Davies said: “Tomoki

is day by day. It’s just one of those little injuries that is taking a little bit of time to get completely right. What we

don’t want to do is make him worse. He’s a key player for us. We’ll see how he goes this week.”

Paik Seung-ho

Injury: Unspecified

Davies predicted last week that it would be another “week or two” before the South Korean is approved to return to

action after Paik missed the Blues’ last three games.

It appears like he will be out for a while longer because he has been battling a niggle. The Blues manager stated, “It’s

nothing long-term; we’ll evaluate it day by day, but it appears that it might be a week or two.”

Willum Willumsson

Injury: Unspecified

Due to a late-game incident against Lincoln on January 11, Davies has ruled Willumsson out for “a few weeks.”As a

result, the Icelandic player could miss yet another crucial game against Huddersfield.
