Norwich: Player to pass medical if needed, £7m+ bid reportedly made

Dr. Rajpal Brar believes Norwich midfielder Marcelino Nunez can easily clear his medical at Everton if necessary.

According to an injury expert, despite a hamstring setback at the end of 2024, the Toffees should not consider him a high-risk signing.

The Merseyside club made a £7.2 million deal for the Chilean midfielder, but it was rejected. [La Tercera, 3 January].

According to Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, Nunez suffered a hamstring injury toward the end of 2024, causing him to miss a month.

“Based on the chronology, this appears to be a Grade 2 injury out of 4.

“As long as there are no unforeseen outliers, I don’t expect any problems with his medical.

“This is not a high risk signing either.”

Everton might benefit from Marcelino Nunez’s skill in midfield.

The Chilean international has been a regular in Norwich’s midfield, and at 24, he would inject some youth into the club’s ageing midfield.

He is also capable of finding the back of the net, having scored four goals this season, and it remains to be seen whether the Toffees will make another bid.

Money is expected to be scarce during this transfer window, so this could be something they investigate in the summer.
