Jamie Vardy lands Celtic transfer pitch as Kyogo successor hunt goes beyond Kvistgaarden amid £4m alternative ‘talks’

Craig Moore believes that as the Celtics look to add a new striker before the end of January, Jamie Vardy of Leicester City may be on their radar.

With Kyogo Furuhashi on the verge of a £10 million move to Stade Rennes, the Hoops are getting ready for life without the striker. If a January arrival cannot be arranged, Brendan Rodgers’ only forward options for the rest of the season would be Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny. Brondby’s attacker Mathias Kvistgaarden had emerged as the top target – but reports in Denmark indicate he is presently stays with his teammates at their mid-season training camp in America with time ticking on the January window.

After managing Vardy at the King Power Stadium, Moore believes Rodgers may turn to the seasoned forward, who scored in Sunday’s Foxes victory over Tottenham. The former Rangers player stated on Go Radio: “Kyogo consistently and regularly scores goals.” He fits in perfectly with Celtic’s style of play. He will be greatly missed. That is beyond question.

Will Celtic still be able to have a successful, strong conclusion to the season? Or do they slow down a bit and then have slightly different chats during the off-season?

You mentioned earlier that a top player might be joining on loan, or something similar. Although I haven’t seen every game, will Vardy be playing every week going forward? He is 38 and has seven goals. He has collaborated with Brendan.

Mohamed Bayo, a striker for Lille, has also been mentioned as a possible Kyogo replacement. According to French publications, the player has had “talks” with the Ligue 1 team about leaving. With just two goals this season, Guinea international Bayo has failed to make an impression. He spent the previous season on loan at Le Havre, and his strong play earned him a second shot at his native club.

According to Sport, Celtic, Royal Antwerp, and Las Palmas are among the European teams prepared to “welcome him” this month. Lille reportedly doesn’t want to let him go this month since they don’t have enough depth up front.

However, with Lille reportedly valued at approximately £4 million, Bayo has “started a showdown” with management to force his departure. Kamill Zayatte, a former Guinean international who played for Lens in Ligue 1, advised his compatriot to choose his next team wisely.
