Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Ross Wallace lands first coaching role in Premier League

Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Ross Wallace has taken his first steps into coaching after taking up a role with one of his former sides.
The former Scotland international has been without a club since leaving St Mirren last summer, and has turned his attentions towards a full-time career in coaching.Wallace has been appointed as Burnley’s new Technical Development Coach in the Youth Development Phase, having signed on a contract until the end of the season with the Clarets.
His new job sees him overseeing the technical development of academy players at Turf Moor, with Wallace one of a number of appointments made by Burnley since they were given Category One status.

It’s Wallace’s first full-time coaching role since he finished his playing career north of the border, and he could be handed the job permanently if successful between now and the end of the season.
The 35-year-old was of course part of the Wednesday side that made it to the Championship play-offs in back-to-back seasons in 2016 and 2017, where they were beaten by Hull City and Huddersfield Town respectively.
