Footballer in police car crash outside stadium
A police car and a Leeds United football player collided outside the team’s Elland Road stadium.
At approximately 10:15 BST on Thursday, Charlie Cresswell was operating his Land Rover Defender when the
collision occurred.
Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds said the fight was a “minor collision” as the defender turned into the West Stand
parking lot.
West Yorkshire Police informed the Press Association that no one else was wounded in the collision and that a police
officer was treated for minor injuries.
According to the force, investigations into the event are still ongoing.
On Thursday night, Leeds United will play Norwich City in the second leg of their semi-final Championship play-off
match.
The victor advances to the play-off final at Wembley on May 26 after the first leg ended 0–0 at Carrow Road on
Sunday.
