West Brom and its opponents have until the conclusion of the window to sign players. West Brom triumphed 5-1 at home against Portsmouth this weekend. They scored four goals in the first half against their opponents, securing an amazing victory. The Baggies are currently in the play-offs as they seek promotion to the Premier League. Tony Mowbray just returned to the Hawthorns to replace Carlos Corberan. West Brom have a chance to sign fresh players before the deadline. They can also allow some people to leave through the exit door.

Sheffield Wednesday eye defender Ryo Hatsuse

report Sheffield Wednesday are ‘eager’ on signing Vissel Kobe left-back Ryo Hatsuse, despite interest from elsewhere. The Owls are eager to sign the player before the January transfer window closes on February 3rd. Hatsuse, 27, has been targeted by the Yorkshire club as a player to strengthen their backline. Danny Rohl’s side triumphed 2-0 away at QPR last time out, boosting their play-off hopes. The former Japan international has been at Vissel Kobe since 2019, where he has been a significant player for the previous six years. He has made just under 200 appearances in all competitions to date.

Leeds United target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

According to The Sun, Leeds United are keeping tabs on Besiktas player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The 31-year-old has emerged as a contender for the Whites. Daniel Farke’s squad, like West Brom, hope to return to the top flight this season. Last year, they lost the play-off final to Southampton at Wembley Stadium. Oxlade-Chamberlain has 35 caps for England and has been playing in Turkey since 2023. However, his long-term future in the Super Lig remains uncertain.

He has had spells in the past at Southampton, Arsenal and Liverpool. He has played 422 matches in his career to date and has scored 53 goals.

Leeds could see the Portsmouth-born man as someone to add more experience into their squad. He would give them more competition and depth in the middle of the park.

Coventry City eye Matt Grimes

According to BBC Sport, Frank Lampard is interested in signing Swansea City midfielder Matt Grimes. The Sky Blues have already had two bids rejected, but are considering a third. The 29-year-old has been a regular for the Swans in recent years, but they risk losing him. He was given a new contract last summer and stated, “If I’m going to have success, I want it to be here and I believe in the club and what I’m doing.”
