Philippe Clement’s side were initially given a free-kick for a foul on Diomande but the pair then lashed out at each other, with the Ivorian rasing his hands.

On field referee Nick Walsh was quick to dish out a red for the Rangers player, while Holt walked away with just a booking.

Kris Boyd branded the decision to send off Diomande for the incident as “embarrassing” when he addressed the flashpoint in the Sky Sports studio at full-time.

Clement was also left stunned by the call and confirmed Rangers will be appealing the decision.
