According to Sky Sports writer Anthony Joseph, Celtic are planning to make “another approach” for a top player during the January transfer window.
Jota is poised to return to Celtic
There have been numerous transfer whispers around the Hoops this month, most notably the return of former offensive hero Jota.
The Portuguese is more poised to secure a Celtic reunion, having joined from Ligue 1 club Rennes, who are in the process of signing Kyogo Furuhashi. Given his influence during his initial spell at Parkhead, this move may be extremely popular.
Meanwhile, another Hoops homecoming appears to be on the cards this month, with Kieran Tierney expected to sign on loan until the end of the season. He is expected to sign a pre-contract deal that will allow him to join permanently during the summer transfer window.
Celtic are also rumoured to be interested in signing Brondby forward Mathias Kvistgaarden as Brendan Rodgers seeks to strengthen his attacking options following Kyogo’s disappointing departure.
Celtic to take “another approach” for a new striker Taking to X, Joseph stated that Celtic will make “another approach” for Kvistgaarden as they attempt to sign him this month:
Kvistgaarden, 22, might be the ideal Kyogo replacement for the Hoops, since he is an exceptional young attacker with a lot more to offer.
The Dane has 38 goals in 110 Brondby games, and he has seven goals in 17 international outings for Denmark’s Under-21 team. Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has previously praised him as “superb”.
If Celtic were able to sign Kvistgaarden, Jota, and Tierney by the deadline on February 3rd, it would feel like a fantastic window overall, even if losing Kyogo could damage the reigning Scottish Premiership champions.
The Hoops need to be as strong as possible between now and the conclusion of the season, not only to defend their league title, but also to advance as far as possible in the Champions League.
Celtic may sign Kvistgaarden as both a player with a lot of potential for the future and a vital player right away.
