Tyler Dibling, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Albert Grønbaek, and Aaron Ramsdale will not play against Newcastle United, according to Southampton manager Ivan Juric.
After a terrible performance against Bournemouth last Saturday, Eddie Howe’s team is looking to recover. The Magpies’ nine-game winning streak came to an abrupt end as they fell 4-1.
Southampton, the bottom-ranked team in the Premier League, offers Newcastle the ideal chance to recover. Whether the Saints will surpass Derby County’s miserable 11-point record from 2007–08 is starting to be questioned by analysts.
Newcastle is encouraged by Nick Pope’s comeback despite the absence of Harvey Barnes, Callum Wilson, Emil Krafth, and Jamaal Lascelles. However, that presents Howe with a selection conundrum in goal.
Juric, the Southampton manager, said prior to the match that four first-team players would not play. The match is too early for Grønbaek, who arrived in January, even though three players are injured.
Juric stated, “At this time, we are a little bit more optimistic (about Dibling).” Next week, we’ll see. We’ll be able to say more next week. Due to a minor injury, Sulemana will not play against Newcastle. Our medical staff is concerned about his little hamstring issue because he has experienced issues in the past.
Even without Harvey Barnes, Callum Wilson, Emil Krafth, and Jamaal Lascelles, Newcastle is buoyed by Nick Pope’s return. But that gives Howe a dilemma when it comes to goal selection.
Before the game, Southampton manager Juric announced that four members of the first team would not play. Despite three players being injured, Grønbaek, who came in January, feels the match is too early.
Juric said, “At this time, we are a little bit more optimistic (about Dibling).” We’ll see next week. Next week, we’ll have more to say. Sulemana will not participate against Newcastle because of a minor injury. Because he has had problems in the past, our medical staff is worried about his minor hamstring problem.
