‘This is the pressure I like’ – Vitor Pereira relishing Wolves’ relegation scrap
The ‘pressure’ of Wolves’ relegation struggle is being relished by Vitor Pereira, who is encouraging his team to see their own potential. In his first month in charge, the head coach has openly criticized a few players, but he still believes that the best approach is to be honest. The Portuguese manager also claims that he will perform at his peak due to the pressure of the Premier League’s lowest division.”In a storm we need to be focused, look at the details and take the best form ourselves,” Pereira stated.”This is the pressure I like to have.”I prefer to live my life with the truth, but I also enjoy the push to be the best version of myself.
“I prefer to be honest with everybody, because I can sleep well.”The head coach maintains that he has “confidence” in the current squad to win their challenging schedule in spite of the criticism.Wolves’ schedule only gets more difficult with Arsenal today before matches against Villa and Liverpool. Wolves has previously lost three straight top league games to Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, and Chelsea.”I have confidence in my players and our work,” Pereira continued.
“We are still together even though we are up against some really formidable teams. We’re still committed and will give it our all on the field. My goal is for my team to perform as we ought to. I don’t think we played well in the last game because we changed a lot of our behaviors, and I don’t want my squad to do that. Identity is what I desire. I want us to try to play in our way, not to react to the opposing team. “This is a very difficult league. As a team, we get better over time, but it’s crucial to have faith in ourselves, our work, and our daily routine.
Pereira must also instill that belief in the players, who have recently suffered after a strong start under the new manager, who took over just before Christmas. The head coach thinks Wolves can escape trouble this season, avoid relegation from the top flight, and battle their way back up the league table if the players and supporters are on the same page. Pereira stated, “I need to pass them confidence, hunger to win, and fire in the eyes.”
“This is what we are doing, and this is my work. The ability to play with confidence is just as important as tactical skill. We thought we could have played better football in the most recent game. “This is something that we need to create together, a good energy with our supporters and to be our best version,” says the player, “but football is not just tactical.” “Sometimes they are full of good energy, because we are energy, and sometimes we are empty of good energy, and sometimes we have bad energy.”
