
Nottingham bus passenger dies after suffering cardiac arrest onboard
According to a bus operator in Nottingham, a man passed away following a heart arrest on a bus. After a customer on the Orange 35 route became ill, emergency personnel raced to Coleby Road, Broxtowe at 5:23 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8. Before paramedics arrived seven minutes later, the driver and another passenger performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, according to Nottingham City Transport (NCT). “The passenger experienced a heart arrest, according to paramedics. The passenger tragically died in spite of their best efforts,” a spokeswoman stated.
“Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this time and with our driver who acted with great care to try and help one of their passengers when they became unwell.” An East Midlands Ambulance Service representative stated: “On Wednesday, January 8, at 5:23 p.m., we received a call to Coleby Road in Broxtowe.
Seven minutes later, our first resource—an ambulance—arrived on the site. Additionally, we dispatched a doctor in a car and two paramedics in single response vehicles. NCT confirmed that its 35 and 78 services were returning to their regular routes by 10.30 p.m., having stated at 6 p.m. that they were being diverted because of the incident.
