Newcastle United was given a fantastic chance to sabotage the Aston Villa deal following the Fabrizio Romano update.

The loss of Abdukodir Khusanov to Manchester City was a major setback for Newcastle United, who are still searching for a defender after losing out on Marc Guehi in the summer.

Newcastle sporting director Paul Mitchell was certain he could sign Guehi, but Crystal Palace turned down multiple bids. Fast forward to the January transfer window, and Newcastle appeared ready to sign Khusanov from RC Lens before he left for Manchester City.

Husanov said he turned down Newcastle in order to be coached by Pep Guardiola, whom he views as “among the best.”

Additionally, it appears that Newcastle will lose out to Man City before the transfer window closes on another talented young defender. Prior to his verbal agreement with the reigning Premier League Champions, Newcastle believed they were in the lead for Juma Bah.

A defender is still needed by Newcastle. They recently got a fantastic chance to snatch a player who was rumored to be moving to another Premier League team.

Newcastle blocks the Sevilla center-back Loic Bade’s transfer to Aston Villa.

According to reports, Aston Villa had started talks about acquiring the French international, thus it appeared that Loic Bade would join the team in January. After Sevilla cut Bade’s price tag by £30 million earlier in January, Newcastle was linked to a move for the 24-year-old, but it appeared that Villa was the first to pass on the 24-year-old.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now acknowledged that the player and club are not making any progress in their negotiations and that the deal is on hold.

Villa’s most recent offer of £19.3 million plus £2.5 million in add-ons is reportedly not to Sevilla’s liking. It appears that wage demands could be another roadblock before the transaction is finalized, since Romano has also reported that Bade has rejected Villa’s bid.
With 16 La Liga games played so far this season and five clean sheets, Bade has helped Sevilla climb to 11th place in the standings.

Bade might be beyond of Newcastle’s price range.
Due to constant pressure to adhere to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, Newcastle might not even be able to afford to pay the £20 million that Bade would cost with add-ons.

Newcastle’s failure to sign Khusanov in January was attributed to PSR and Financial Fair Play. Khusanov’s agent, Gairat Khasbiullin, told Championat that talks with Newcastle regarding a move for the 20-year-old had taken place.

According to him, Newcastle was unable to submit an offer for the player because FFP affected the processes.

Additionally, he asserted that Newcastle could have acquired him if they had made a bid earlier in the transfer window, indicating that Mitchell did attempt to sign him but it was unsuccessful.
