Leeds United easily defeated Norwich City on Wednesday, but given his previous employment at Carrow Road, some of the traveling supporters obviously still hold the German in high regard.
When it was revealed that Norwich supporters had brought fewer than 1,000 spectators to Elland Road, Whites fans cheered louder than the away end’s cries of “Daniel Farke, you left us for s***.” On a weekday, it is, to be fair, four hours each way.
After full time, the United manager was circling the field, giving his three arm-raise cheers, and eventually making his way close to the tunnel. Those of the yellow persuasion who stayed until the very end and didn’t try to avoid traffic gave Farke a gesture. It appeared that Farke made the gesture to the home section beneath the visiting fans, but some of the away section seemed to join in. Given the outcome, some Norwich supporters on social media weren’t happy with that.
ITV blunder
ITV is not the first, and they most definitely won’t be the last, to make this error. When United defeated Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 on Sunday, the broadcasters invited Stuart Dallas, a fan favorite, to join their panel of pundits.
The substitution visuals appeared on screen to verify that José Guilavogui entered the game for the last few minutes. But Josuha changed his name to “Joshua.” I doubt they can attribute it to spellcheck either.
