Ipswich postponement update as Liverpool placed in wind weather warning

The rain warning in Liverpool may cause fans to worry once more after the Merseyside derby was postponed earlier in the season. Liverpool is currently under a yellow weather warning, according to information posted by the Met Office, which reads, “Storm Éowyn will bring a spell of strong winds for a time on Friday.”

Fortunately, the website reports that there is no warning in effect throughout Merseyside on Saturday, therefore it appears that our next Premier League match will go ahead. We’re fortunate to hear that news, though, because Sunday will see the city’s areas revert to a yellow alert as well. Hopefully, luck will be on our side so we can play the next game.

Other games this season have raised concerns, such as the one against Southampton, where weather warnings were sent but the game still took place. Given that wind is the single factor giving us an advantage over our championship competitors, there is cause to be concerned that things could worsen and that a decision could need to be made on the day of the Ipswich match. But Arne Slot’s entire attention will be on making sure his team is ready for the newly promoted team’s visit and that we can win.
