Double tragedy for family of Ricky Collins after brother killed in Sheffield motorbike crash

The second tragedy to strike a family is the killing of a man in an attack close to Sheffield; his brother’s death in a

motorbike accident dealt another terrible blow to loved ones.

Ricky Collins was attacked in Killamarsh on Monday night, and his death led to a murder investigation.

He was taken to the hospital after being discovered hurt at the intersection of Westthorpe Road and Upperthorpe

Road, but despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was not saved.

Derbyshire Constabulary said officers were deployed to Killamarsh following reports of a disturbance in a house on

Westthorpe Road at around 10pm on the night of the attack.

As police continue their investigation into the murder, the crime site is still under police guard and is blocked off this

morning.

The attack is being handled as a “isolated incident” by detectives.

The death of Ricky’s brother, Liam Michael Collins, who passed away in an October 2014 motorbike accident, is still

being processed by his family.

On Mansfield Road, Intake, near the intersection with Cadman Road, the 27-year-old was involved in an accident

with a vehicle.

According to a family friend, Ricky’s mother is “heartbroken” at losing her surviving son.

She wrote: “RIP Ricky, you’re with your brother now” in a Facebook post.

Anyone with a dashcam who was driving in the area at the time or witnesses would be welcome to talk to

investigators investigating Ricky’s death.
